Many riders don't actually use the brake and prefer a fender. A fender will keep your heel from contacting the rear wheel when landing tricks while being lighter and far less likely to break than a brake. You won't accidentally flat spot your wheel with a fender either.
Your fender also comes with replacement rubber washers which are essential to a dialled installation and 2 replacement 4mm hex head screws.
